About the role

We are seeking an experienced Captain Cruise to join the team at Legends Bistro Bar & Sports in Bali. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to lead our front-of-house operations and deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests. As Captain Cruise, you will be the commanding presence in our restaurant, overseeing service delivery, managing our waiting staff, and ensuring every guest leaves with outstanding memories of their time with us. This role is pivotal to maintaining our reputation for excellence and hospitality in the vibrant Bali dining scene.

Key responsibilities

• Leading and supervising the waiting staff team to ensure seamless service delivery and consistent quality standards

• Greeting guests warmly and creating a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the Legends Bistro Bar & Sports brand

• Managing the dining room floor, overseeing table assignments, and optimising guest seating arrangements

• Training and mentoring waiting staff on service protocols, menu knowledge, and customer service excellence

• Taking orders, making menu recommendations, and ensuring accurate delivery of food and beverages to tables

• Handling guest enquiries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and discretion, resolving issues to ensure satisfaction

• Coordinating with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely and accurate service

• Maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene throughout the dining area

• Managing reservations and walk-in guests to maximise table turnover and revenue

• Assisting with stock management, ensuring adequate supplies of service materials and equipment

• Contributing to a positive team environment and supporting colleagues to deliver exceptional service

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years' experience in fine dining or upscale casual restaurant environments in a senior waiting or supervisory role

• Demonstrated expertise in modern dining service standards and etiquette

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire and lead a team

• Strong knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including wine and cocktail pairings

• Proven ability to manage high-pressure situations with grace and maintain composure during busy service periods

• Fluency in English; additional languages such as Indonesian or Mandarin are highly desirable

• Professional appearance and impeccable personal presentation standards

• Excellent organisational and time management abilities

• Passion for hospitality and genuine desire to create memorable guest experiences

• Reliability and flexibility with availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
