Host/Hostess

About the role

Solea Rooftop Restaurant is seeking a Host/Hostess to join our dynamic front-of-house team. This is a full-time position based in South Denpasar, Bali. As Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that sets the tone for their dining experience. This role is strategically important to our restaurant's success, as you will be responsible for managing guest arrivals, seating arrangements, and overall guest flow whilst maintaining our high standards of hospitality and service excellence.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and managing the host stand with professionalism and efficiency

• Maintaining the reservation system and managing bookings accurately to optimise table management and guest flow

• Seating guests in accordance with restaurant capacity, guest preferences, and server availability

• Providing guests with menus and communicating current specials, promotions, and dining options

• Managing wait lists during peak hours and communicating estimated wait times to guests

• Coordinating with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations and timely table turnover

• Handling guest inquiries and concerns with courtesy and professionalism, escalating issues as needed

• Maintaining a clean and organised host stand and entrance area

• Processing payments and assisting with administrative tasks as required

• Supporting special events and functions with flexible scheduling when needed

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a Hostess, Host, or in a similar front-of-house guest services role within a hospitality establishment

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage guests from diverse backgrounds

• Outstanding organisational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously during busy service periods

• Proficiency in reservation and point-of-sale (POS) systems, or willingness to learn quickly

• A warm, engaging personality with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment

• Flexibility and adaptability to shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

• Fluency in English

• Knowledge of dining etiquette and hospitality best practices

• Ability to work collaboratively with all team members and contribute to a positive workplace culture
