About the role

We are seeking a Tax Assistant Manager to join our accounting and taxation team at PT Askara Internal. This is a contract position based in Bekasi, West Java. As Tax Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting our taxation operations and ensuring that our clients receive accurate, compliant and timely tax advice and services. You will work closely with senior tax professionals to manage tax compliance matters, provide technical expertise and contribute to the strategic development of our taxation practice.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing tax compliance documentation, including income tax returns, value-added tax (VAT) returns and other regulatory filings

• Providing technical tax advice to clients on matters relating to corporate taxation, personal taxation and indirect taxation

• Conducting tax planning analysis and identifying opportunities for tax efficiency within the bounds of regulatory compliance

• Managing tax audit responses and representing clients in discussions with tax authorities where appropriate

• Maintaining detailed records of tax calculations, supporting documentation and correspondence with tax authorities

• Supervising junior staff members and providing guidance on tax-related assignments and methodologies

• Keeping abreast of changes in tax legislation, regulations and best practices to ensure our services remain current and compliant

• Liaising with clients to gather necessary financial information and clarify tax matters

• Contributing to the development of tax policies, procedures and templates to enhance team efficiency

What we're looking for

• A professional qualification in accounting or taxation, such as a Bawasan Pajak certification or equivalent qualification recognised in Indonesia

• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a taxation or accounting role, preferably within a professional services firm or in-house tax department

• Strong knowledge of Indonesian tax law, including income tax, VAT, corporate taxation and other indirect taxes

• Demonstrated expertise in tax compliance, tax planning and tax administration

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments with accuracy and efficiency

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters to clients and colleagues clearly

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

• The ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively as part of a team

• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards

• Experience in managing junior team members would be advantageous
