Accounting & Tax Manager (Retail)

Position Description:

• Direct the daily operations of the accounting and tax departments, ensuring all transactional data reconciles with the central ERP.

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes, ensuring compliance with local accounting standards (e.g., PSAK / IFRS) and corporate reporting deadlines.

• Maintain control over inventory costing models, tracking high-frequency Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), margin fluctuations across expansive SKU catalogs, and managing ledger adjustments for retail shrinkage, damage, and obsolescence.

• Enforce rigorous treasury and cash management controls, establishing automated reconciliation protocols to eliminate variances between cash registers, digital wallets, credit cards, payment gateways, and bank deposits.

• Act as the primary interface for external auditors, corporate tax authorities, and regulatory bodies, managing corporate income tax returns, tax audits, and information requests.

• Supervise corporate withholding tax (WHT) compliance, local municipal taxes, and transfer pricing documentation where applicable.

• Provide leadership, technical training, and performance evaluations for the accounting, treasury, and tax specialists within the department.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. A professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CA) and a certified tax license (e.g., Brevet B or C) are highly preferred.

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive financial accounting and tax experience, with at least 3 years in a management capacity within a fast-moving, high-volume retail, supermarket, or e-commerce environment.

• Strong command of retail business metrics, including margin analysis, inventory shrinkage control, and automated payment gateway processing structures.
