Shadow Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and firm Shadow Teacher to provide one-on-one support for a student with special needs. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and parents to support the student’s learning, emotional, and social development in a structured and encouraging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support during school hours and assist with class activities and assignments.

• Support the student’s social, emotional, and behavioral development while maintaining a firm and caring approach.

• Help the student stay focused, follow routines, develop positive behavior, independence, and self-regulation.

• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to meet the student’s learning needs.

• Implement strategies recommended by therapists or special education professionals.

• Monitor and report the student’s progress and challenges to relevant parties.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field. A degree in Psychology or qualification as a Psychologist will be an advantage.

• Experience working with children with special needs, such as autism, ADHD, or learning difficulties.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and parents.

• Patient, empathetic, caring, and firm in guiding children’s learning and behavior.

• Sufficient spoken and written English communication skills.
