Cook Restaurant (Chinese/Asian/Japanese)

About the role

This is a Cook position in a restaurant kitchen where you will prepare and cook menu items according to standard recipes and restaurant SOPs, ensuring consistent quality in taste, texture, and presentation of food.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to standard recipes and restaurant SOPs

• Ensure quality of taste, texture, and food presentation remains consistent

• Perform ingredient preparation (cutting, marinating, portioning) before service

• Maintain cleanliness of work area according to hygiene and food safety standards

• Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure smooth operational flow

• Monitor raw material usage for efficiency and minimal waste

• Assist with stock management and food storage

• Follow directions from Head Chef / Sous Chef in daily operations

About you

• Minimum 2-3 years experience as a Cook in a restaurant

• Experience with Asian / Chinese / Japanese cuisine

• Understanding of basic cooking techniques (stir-fry, deep-fry, grilling)

• Able to work quickly and neatly during busy service periods

• Disciplined, responsible, and able to work as part of a team

• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
