About the Role

We are recruiting a Quality Manager for our client with quality management experience in the bags and luggage industry. The role is responsible for product quality control, quality management system maintenance, and team management. Working proficiency in English is required; Mandarin proficiency is a plus. The candidate must be willing to travel throughout Indonesia.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee end-to-end quality management for bags and luggage, from raw materials and production through to finished-product shipment.

2. Develop and improve inspection standards, work instructions, and quality management procedures, and ensure their implementation at every stage of production.

3. Manage incoming material, in-process, and finished-product inspections, with particular attention to fabrics and trims, stitching, zippers, hardware, appearance, and functionality.

4. Handle production quality issues, customer complaints, and product returns. Lead root-cause analysis, develop corrective and preventive actions, and monitor their effectiveness.

5. Work with Production, Purchasing, R&D, and suppliers to improve quality and reduce defect rates and rework-related waste.

6. Manage the quality team's daily operations, training, and work assignments to strengthen inspection capabilities and quality awareness.

7. Compile and analyze quality data, submit regular quality reports, and communicate quality matters to clients or management in English.

8. Travel to factories and supplier sites across Indonesia as required to conduct quality inspections and audits and follow up on improvement actions.

Requirements

1. Quality management experience in the bags and luggage industry, with a sound understanding of manufacturing processes, common quality issues, and inspection methods.

2. Experience managing a quality team, with the ability to independently organize quality control activities and resolve quality issues.

3. Familiarity with quality control for raw materials, production processes, and finished products, with the ability to develop and implement inspection standards.

4. Strong analytical and cross-functional coordination skills, with the ability to drive effective resolution of quality issues.

5. Working proficiency in English is essential, including the ability to participate in meetings, write emails and quality reports, and handle day-to-day business communication.

6. Mandarin proficiency is preferred.

7. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and other office software, with the ability to organize quality data and prepare reports.

8. Willingness to travel throughout Indonesia, with a responsible, detail-oriented approach and strong follow-through.
