About the role

We are seeking a Product Development Senior Staff member to join our dynamic team at PT Leon Boga Sentosa in North Jakarta. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial strategic role in our product development initiatives. As Senior Staff, you will lead the conception, formulation and commercialization of innovative food products, working at the intersection of food science, technology and market demand. This role is pivotal to our company's growth strategy and will have significant influence over our product portfolio and competitive positioning in the market.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of new food products from concept through to commercial launch, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market opportunities

• Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to identify emerging food trends, consumer preferences and technological innovations

• Design and execute product formulations, utilizing advanced food science principles and quality assurance protocols

• Oversee laboratory testing, sensory evaluation and shelf-life studies to ensure products meet safety, quality and regulatory standards

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, manufacturing, quality assurance and regulatory affairs to drive product success

• Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications, standard operating procedures and product dossiers

• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards, including HACCP and relevant local and international requirements

• Mentor and guide junior product development staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation

• Manage product development budgets and timelines, delivering results efficiently and cost-effectively

• Conduct competitive analysis and market research to inform product positioning and differentiation strategies

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Nutrition or a related discipline; advanced qualification such as a Master's degree is advantageous

• Minimum 2-4 years of professional experience in food product development, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership capacity

• Extensive knowledge of food formulation, food chemistry and food processing technologies

• Deep understanding of food safety standards, regulatory requirements and quality assurance frameworks specific to food manufacturing

• Proven track record of successfully developing and launching food products from concept to market

• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple product development initiatives simultaneously

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across departments

• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal; knowledge of Indonesian language is highly desirable

• Demonstrated ability to think strategically whilst maintaining attention to technical detail and scientific rigour

• Experience with food industry software and laboratory equipment relevant to product development

• Problem-solving mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
