We’re Looking for a Full-Time Main Teacher

Gateway Preschool, South Jakarta

Gateway Preschool is looking for a Main Teacher who understands young children and can lead a classroom with warmth, structure, and professionalism.

Gateway Preschool is a new preschool in South Jakarta, built around warm relationships, purposeful play, consistent routines, and whole-child development. We support children to grow with confidence, character, independence, and joy in learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

• Create a safe, warm, organized, and engaging classroom environment.

• Guide daily routines that support children’s confidence, independence, and participation.

• Observe and document children’s progress through learning notes, photos, and assessment records.

• Support children’s social-emotional, language, cognitive, creative, physical, and self-help development.

• Guide children’s behavior using positive, respectful, and age-appropriate approaches.

• Communicate professionally with parents regarding children’s progress, routines, and well-being.

• Work closely with Assistant Teachers, the Principal, and the school team.

• Participate in teacher meetings, school events, training, and professional reflection.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Preschool Education, Psychology, Education, or a related field.

• Master’s Degree is an advantage.

• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a preschool or early childhood setting.

• Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate teaching practice.

• Experience working with Toddler, Pre-Nursery, Nursery, K1, K2, or equivalent early years levels is an advantage.

• Excellent spoken and written English.

• Strong classroom management with a warm, calm, and respectful approach.

• Able to plan and carry out meaningful classroom activities, routines, and learning experiences.

• Able to communicate with parents and colleagues in a professional manner.

• Able to prepare lesson plans, observations, documentation, and child progress records.

• Familiar with Google Workspace or willing to learn.

• Able to work collaboratively in a multicultural educational environment.

• Warm, nurturing, professional, responsible, and passionate about working with young children.

• Full-time position.
