Localization Project Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Localization Project Coordinator to lead and coordinate the end-to-end localization certification process for BYD vehicle models in Indonesia. This role serves as the central cross-functional bridge, driving alignment across Product, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Legal teams, while also acting as the primary liaison with external certification bodies and government authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end coordination of localization certification for vehicle models in Indonesia, from initial application through final approval. Track project milestones, identify risks, and proactively resolve roadblocks to ensure on-time delivery.

• Act as the central coordinator to drive alignment across internal departments, including Product, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Legal. Facilitate cross-departmental communication, clarify responsibilities, and ensure all parties are aligned on certification timelines and requirements.

• Serve as the primary point of contact with local certification bodies, government agencies, and regulatory authorities. Manage submission, follow-up, and approval processes to maintain smooth communication and compliance with Indonesian regulations.

• Proactively monitor changes in localization policies and regulatory requirements in Indonesia. Adapt certification strategies and project plans accordingly to ensure continued compliance and minimize impact on project timelines.

• Travel occasionally to the Subang factory to coordinate with production and quality teams, verify on-site compliance, and resolve certification-related issues at the operational level.

• Maintain clear, organized records of all certification submissions, approvals, correspondence, and project status updates. Produce timely deliverables and progress reports to stakeholders.

About you

• Professional working proficiency in Chinese is required; English-language skills are advantageous.

• Sound understanding of Indonesia's vehicle certification and homologation regulations and procedures.

• Relevant experience in vehicle certification, homologation, regulatory affairs, or automotive project management is preferred, ideally with at least two years of experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with project management tools is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving mindset, flexibility, and demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and horizontal alignment across departments.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of tracking multiple priorities independently while delivering outputs on time.

• Direct experience coordinating with Indonesian certification bodies or government agencies (e.g., Kemenperin, MOI, MOF).

• Background in multinational corporations, OEMs, or automotive supply chain.

• Experience in vehicle homologation or type-approval processes in Southeast Asian markets.

• Strong project coordination skills with a track record of driving cross-team initiatives to completion.
