About the role
We are seeking an experienced Central Workshop & Facility Management Manager Shipyard to join on a full-time basis in Batam, Riau Islands. This is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of workshop operations and facility management across our shipyard complex. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring optimal operational efficiency, maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role is critical to supporting our core shipbuilding and maintenance operations and directly impacts our ability to deliver projects on time and to the highest standards.
Oversee the daily operations of the central workshop, including scheduling, resource allocation, Man power planning and equipment maintenance
Manage facility maintenance operations across the entire shipyard complex, ensuring all infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards
Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for all workshop equipment and shipyard facilities
Supervise workshop and facility maintenance teams, providing leadership, training, and performance management
Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all workshop and facility operations
Monitor and control workshop and facility budgets, including procurement of materials, equipment, and spare parts
Coordinate with project managers and other departments to ensure workshop capacity and facility support align with shipyard project requirements
Implement and maintain efficient inventory management systems for tools, equipment, and maintenance materials
Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs
Prepare regular reports on workshop performance, facility conditions, and maintenance metrics for management review
Ensure all documentation, maintenance records, and compliance certifications are properly maintained and updated
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification
5 years of experience in workshop and facility management, preferably in a shipyard or heavy engineering environment
Proven track record in managing maintenance teams and overseeing complex facility operations
Strong knowledge of shipyard operations, maritime standards, and industry best practices
Proficiency in maintenance planning software and facility management systems
Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations, ISO standards, and quality management systems
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control operational costs effectively
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities under pressure
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Indonesian
Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and engineering equipment maintenance is highly desirable
