About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Barista to join our team at PT. Sumber Inspirasi Prima in Gamping, Yogyakarta. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional beverage experiences to our guests. As a Barista, you will be the face of our café, crafting high-quality coffee and beverages whilst providing outstanding customer service. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the hospitality and beverage sector and contributes directly to creating memorable experiences for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based drinks, coffee, tea and speciality cocktails

• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, steamers and other coffee-making equipment to ensure consistent quality

• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, remembering preferences and providing personalised recommendations

• Maintain a clean and hygienic workspace, including the bar area, equipment and seating areas in accordance with health and safety standards

• Stock and organise supplies, including coffee beans, syrups, milk and other ingredients

• Monitor inventory levels and communicate with management regarding stock requirements

• Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, building rapport and ensuring customer satisfaction

• Process payments accurately using point-of-sale systems and handle cash responsibly

• Assist in training newer staff members on beverage preparation techniques and customer service standards

• Follow recipes and presentation standards to maintain consistency across all beverages

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a Barista in a fast-paced café or hospitality environment

• In-depth knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods and espresso extraction techniques

• Proficiency in operating commercial espresso machines and other café equipment

• Strong ability to multitask and maintain composure during peak service times

• Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for engaging with guests

• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality beverages consistently

• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and management

• Basic numeracy skills for handling cash and processing transactions

• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights

• Relevant qualifications or certifications in barista training or food and beverage service are highly desirable

• Fluency in Indonesian and English is preferred
