About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Cook to join our culinary team at our Gamping, Yogyakarta location. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality dishes that meet our guests' expectations. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to our established recipes and culinary standards, whilst maintaining exceptional hygiene and food safety practices. This position is integral to our kitchen operations and directly impacts the dining experience we provide to our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards

• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, sanitation, and safety in compliance with local health and safety regulations

• Manage food preparation stations efficiently, ensuring all necessary ingredients and equipment are organised and accessible

• Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is cooked to the correct standard

• Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and coordinated food preparation and service

• Follow plating and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency and visual appeal of all dishes

• Maintain accurate records of food stock and communicate any shortages to senior kitchen staff

• Adhere to portion control measures to minimise food waste and ensure cost effectiveness

• Respond to feedback from senior kitchen staff and continuously improve cooking techniques and efficiency

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a Cook in a hospitality, restaurant, or catering environment

• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and ingredient handling

• Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistent quality in all dishes prepared

• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods whilst performing manual tasks

• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required

• Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications (preferred but not essential)

• Experience with Indonesian cuisine is desirable
