SHE Manager

Job Description

The SHE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the company's Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) management system to ensure that all operational activities comply with applicable laws and regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate SHE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and environmental regulations.

• Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and establish appropriate control measures to prevent workplace accidents and occupational illnesses.

• Ensure the implementation of occupational safety standards across all operational areas, including routine inspections, SHE audits, and follow-up actions on audit findings.

• Lead investigations into workplace accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions, and ensure that corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.

• Oversee environmental management, including waste management, hazardous materials handling, pollution control, and compliance with applicable environmental requirements.

• Ensure the effectiveness of emergency response procedures, including fire prevention, evacuation, and emergency drills.

• Develop and deliver SHE training and awareness programs to promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

• Lead, supervise, and develop the SHE team while collaborating with relevant departments to ensure consistent implementation of SHE programs.

• Prepare SHE performance reports, monitor safety performance indicators, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement to management.

• Liaise with government authorities, auditors, and external stakeholders regarding occupational safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in SHE/EHS, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or team leadership position.

• Strong knowledge of Indonesian occupational safety regulations, operational safety, risk management, and applicable environmental regulations.

• Holds a valid General Occupational Safety Expert (Ahli K3 Umum) certification or an equivalent certification relevant to the role. Additional environmental certifications are an advantage.

• Proven experience in developing and implementing SHE procedures, conducting inspections and audits, investigating incidents, and managing corrective actions.

• Good understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems (SMK3), ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and risk management skills.

• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to enforce safety standards firmly and effectively influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.

• Willingness to conduct site visits and operational inspections as required by the company.
