QA/QC Civil Engineer

About the role

This is a Quality Control role focused on inspections for civil and structural works. You will perform quality control inspections based on approved drawings, specifications, and Inspection and Test Plans, ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Quality Control inspections for civil and structural works based on approved drawings, specifications, and Inspection and Test Plans

• Inspect formwork, reinforcement, anchor bolts, embedded items, concrete works, and equipment foundations before concrete pouring

• Inspect structural steel erection, including alignment, level, base plates, bolted connections, and grouting

• Verify dimensions, elevations, alignment, and construction tolerances with the Survey and Construction teams

• Prepare and coordinate Requests for Inspection with the Client or Consultant

• Identify non-conforming work, issue Non-Conformance Reports, and monitor corrective actions until closure

• Maintain inspection records, concrete test reports, checklists, and other Quality Control documentation

• Support punch-list inspection and final handover activities

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction projects, including at least 3 years in Civil/Structural Quality Assurance or Quality Control

• Experience in mining, industrial plants, smelters, power plants, or similar heavy construction projects is preferred

• Good knowledge of reinforced concrete, formwork, reinforcement, equipment foundations, structural steel erection, anchor bolts, embedded items, and grouting

• Able to read and understand civil, structural, foundation, and reinforcement drawings

• Familiar with Inspection and Test Plans, Requests for Inspection, Non-Conformance Reports, and concrete testing requirements

• Working knowledge of applicable Quality Assurance / Quality Control codes and standards, including ISO 9001, ACI, ASTM, AISC, AWS D1.1, and relevant project/client specifications

• Able to interpret inspection acceptance criteria, construction tolerances, material test requirements, and quality documentation requirements

• Able to work actively on site and coordinate effectively with Construction, Engineering, Survey, Client, and Consultant teams

• Willing to be placed in site
