QA Automation Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Remote Position QA Automation Engineer to establish, own, and scale the quality assurance practices for Coinut’s crypto exchange platform (coinut.com).

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, stability, and quality of our systems by designing automation frameworks, conducting API and system testing, and driving end-to-end quality across releases. You will also review system requirements, track quality metrics (e.g. defect trends, open defect counts), and work closely with Product Managers and Engineers throughout the product development lifecycle.

This role is ideal for a hands-on, self-driven QA engineer who is comfortable working independently and building QA foundations in a fast-paced fintech / crypto environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts & framework for web and API systems

• Lead the development of automated test scripts for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing, ensuring scalability and reliability across multiple features and systems.

• Conduct comprehensive API testing for REST APIs, JSON payloads, authentication, webhooks, callbacks, and third-party integrations

• Integrate automation tests into CI/CD pipelines and take part in release testing and ensure end-to-end quality in production deployments

• Identify bugs, document issues clearly, and track resolution

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, DevOps, Compliance, and Operations to identify quality risks early in the development lifecycle

• Help define QA processes, test strategy, release testing and ensure end-to-end quality in production deployments

• Perform database and backend validation where required to confirm transaction records, balances, and system states.

• Conduct performance, load, and stress testing for critical APIs and transaction workflows.

• Review product requirements, technical specifications, acceptance criteria, API specifications, and system flows from a testability and quality perspective.

Requirements

• 2–5+ years experience in QA / Software Testing

• Strong experience with test automation frameworks (any of the following): Playwright / Cypress / Selenium / Robot Framework

• Strong API testing experience using tools or frameworks such as Postman, Newman, REST Assured, pytest, Playwright API testing, or equivalent.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP, authentication, webhooks, asynchronous systems, and API integrations.

• Good programming knowledge (JavaScript, Python, or Java)

• Understanding of SDLC, test planning, and bug lifecycle

• Experience testing asynchronous transaction workflows and event-driven systems is highly desirable.

• Experience testing financial, fintech, or crypto platforms is a big plus

• Hands-on experience with test automation and integrating it into CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases.

• Strong analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills having Team spirit - Like explaining and sharing knowledge.

• Self - starter and work independently with minimum supervision under fast-paced environment.

• Having domain knowledge in Fintech / Trading / Blockchain technologies, capital markets technology and financial payments technology would be advantageous.

• Able to communicate in Mandarin (spoken and/or written) will be good advantage
