Mining Civil Engineer Foreman

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate civil engineering and construction activities on the mining site, including excavation, foundation work, road construction and drainage systems

• Manage daily site operations, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and approved methodologies

• Monitor and enforce strict adherence to health, safety and environmental (HSE) protocols and regulations across all civil engineering projects

• Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to ensure work meets established standards and project requirements

• Manage and mentor on-site civil engineering teams, including labourers, equipment operators and junior engineers

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive site records, including daily reports, progress documentation and safety logs

• Coordinate with other departments and contractors to ensure seamless integration of civil works with overall mining operations

• Identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective measures to maintain a secure working environment

• Liaise with the engineering and planning teams to address site challenges and implement engineering solutions

• Ensure timely completion of projects whilst maintaining cost efficiency and minimising waste

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution

• Minimum 3 years of experience working as a civil engineer or foreman in mining or heavy construction environments

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering practices, materials and construction methodologies specific to mining operations

• Proven experience in site supervision, workforce management and leadership of multi-disciplinary teams

• Comprehensive understanding of mining site requirements, including open-pit mining civil works and supporting infrastructure

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation

• Excellent knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations applicable to Indonesian mining operations

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure

• Excellent communication skills in both Indonesian and English

• Physical capability to work on-site in challenging mining environments and willingness to work flexible schedules as required

• Valid driving licence and willingness to obtain any additional certifications required for site operations

• Experience with mining-specific software and digital reporting tools is advantageous
