Position Details

• Position: Mandarin–English Interpreter

• Location: Malaysia

• Work Arrangement: 100% Work From Home

• Employment Type: Full-Time

• Salary: RM 6,000–RM 7,000 per month

• Working Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week

• Shift: Permanent night shift supporting the US market

• Internet Requirement: Minimum 100 Mbps

Key Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between Mandarin and English speakers.

• Handle live voice calls and facilitate effective communication between parties.

• Support communication between healthcare professionals and patients, banking representatives and customers, law enforcement officers, insurance representatives, government agencies, and other service providers.

• Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, impartiality, and professionalism throughout every interaction.

• Interpret information clearly without adding, omitting, or changing the original meaning.

• Remain calm and focused when handling sensitive or high-pressure conversations.

• Provide video interpretation after successfully completing the required qualification process and subject to business requirements.

Job Requirements

• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.

• Mandarin proficiency at HSK Level 6 or above.

• English proficiency at CEFR C1 level or above.

• Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of full-time work experience.

• Candidates without a bachelor's degree must have at least 5 years of full-time work experience.

• Legally eligible to work in Malaysia.

• Willing and able to work permanent night shifts.

• Strong communication, active listening, memory, and information-processing skills.

• Able to remain neutral, professional, and confidential when handling conversations.

• Reliable internet connection with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps.

• Previous interpreting or customer service experience is an advantage, but interpreting experience is not mandatory.

Training & Assessment

• Approximately 3 weeks of structured interpreter training.

• Comprehensive training provided before deployment.

• Candidates must pass the language assessment before joining the training programme.

• Successful completion of the final assessment is required before working as an interpreter.

Salary & Career Development
