Deskripsi pekerjaan

Client Overview

Our client is a diversified Indonesian holding group with operations spanning mining services, heavy engineering, mineral resources, modern agriculture, and large-scale livestock operations.

The group manages multiple operating businesses and subsidiaries with complex, multi-site operations across Indonesia. These businesses require sophisticated planning of spare parts, consumables, raw materials, agricultural inputs, equipment components, and other operational materials.

The group is strengthening its data-driven operational capabilities and is looking for an analytical professional who can transform large and complex operational datasets into practical forecasting, inventory, and material planning decisions.

Important Candidate Consideration – Group & Subsidiary Assignment

This is not a role limited to the holding company. The candidate may be assigned to or required to support different businesses, including: pig-farming consumables and agricultural inputs, mining equipment spare parts, heavy machinery components, engineering materials, or other industrial inventories. Candidates should therefore be prepared to work across different industries and business environments, rather than expecting to remain permanently within one company or one sector.

Job Role

The Demand Planning & Inventory Analytics Lead – Group & Subsidiaries will be responsible for analyzing historical consumption, inventory movements, material requirements, supplier lead times, and operational demand to improve inventory and supply planning across the group's businesses.

This is a hands-on, cross-business role combining statistical analysis, demand forecasting, inventory planning, material requirements planning, and operational strategy.

The successful candidate will work closely with warehouse, procurement, logistics, engineering, farm, mining, and operational teams while presenting data-driven recommendations directly to senior management and the COO.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Data Analytics & Statistical Analysis

  • Collect, clean, structure, and analyze large datasets covering inventory, warehouse movements, material consumption, equipment parts, procurement, and logistics.

  • Analyze historical consumption patterns and operational trends to identify demand drivers and supply risks.

  • Conduct variance analysis between forecast, actual consumption, inventory levels, and operational requirements.

  • Develop management dashboards and analytical reports for senior management and the COO.

  • Transform complex or unstructured operational data into clear and actionable business insights.

  • Identify data-quality issues across warehouse, ERP, MRP, and operational reporting systems.

Demand Forecasting & Inventory Planning

  • Develop demand forecasting models for industrial consumables, heavy-equipment spare parts, fuel, agricultural inputs, chemicals, veterinary supplies, and other operational materials.

  • Calculate and optimize safety stock, reorder points, minimum/maximum stock levels, and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ).

  • Analyze supplier lead times, seasonal demand, purchasing cycles, and supply disruptions to improve material availability.

  • Identify potential stockout risks before they impact operational continuity.

  • Develop inventory planning methodologies suitable for multi-site and geographically distributed operations.

Inventory Optimization & Working Capital Protection

  • Identify slow-moving, obsolete, excess, duplicate, or unnecessary inventory.

  • Analyze inventory carrying costs and identify opportunities to reduce capital tied up in stock.

  • Identify procurement inefficiencies, supply leakage, duplicate purchasing, and abnormal consumption patterns.

  • Provide data-backed recommendations to procurement and operations teams regarding purchasing quantities and timing.

  • Support management in balancing inventory availability against working capital efficiency.

Material Requirements Planning

  • Support and improve MRP parameters based on actual consumption and operational requirements.

  • Translate operational schedules into material requirements and procurement priorities.

  • Monitor material availability against project, production, maintenance, farm, and mining requirements.

  • Develop material planning reports and early-warning indicators for critical materials.

  • Work with warehouse and procurement teams to improve inventory accuracy and replenishment processes.

Cross-Business Coordination

  • Work directly with warehouse managers, procurement teams, engineers, logistics specialists, farm operations, mining operations, and business-unit leaders.

  • Lead regular planning discussions across different subsidiaries and operational locations.

  • Validate analytical findings against actual conditions at operating sites.

  • Travel to warehouses, heavy-equipment stockyards, mining sites, pig-farming facilities, agricultural operations, and other business locations as required.

  • Adapt forecasting and inventory methodologies to different business models and operational environments.

  • Present analytical findings, risks, and recommended actions to senior management.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (S1) from a reputable university in Statistics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Supply Chain Management, or another highly quantitative discipline.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in demand planning, inventory planning, supply chain analytics, operations analytics, material planning, or a closely related function.

  • Strong experience working with operational inventory or material data where inventory accuracy and availability directly impact business operations.

  • Experience in one or more of the following industries is strongly preferred:

    • Mining or mining contractors

    • Heavy equipment

    • Automotive or industrial parts distribution

    • Manufacturing

    • Large-scale agriculture or farming

    • Other asset-intensive or high-volume operational environments

  • Experience managing complex, multi-site, or geographically distributed inventory is highly advantageous.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong understanding of inventory planning and demand forecasting methodologies.

  • Practical expertise in calculating and managing safety stock, reorder points, EOQ, lead times, inventory turnover, and material requirements.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, PivotTables, data analysis, and preferably VBA/macros.

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or similar analytical tools is highly valued.

  • Practical experience extracting, analyzing, and interpreting data from ERP or supply chain systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent platforms.

  • Strong ability to work with large, incomplete, or unstructured operational datasets.

Personal Qualities

  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with large volumes of data.

  • Strong commercial and operational mindset, with the ability to translate analysis into practical business decisions.

  • Resilient and adaptable in a fast-moving, multi-industry environment.

  • Comfortable communicating directly with senior management, operational leaders, and international stakeholders.

  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills and professional maturity.

  • Willing and prepared to work across different businesses and subsidiaries within the group.

  • Must understand and accept that the role may involve assignments in modern pig farming, mining, heavy engineering, holding-company functions, or other group businesses.

  • Comfortable traveling frequently to warehouses, mining operations, agricultural facilities, and other remote locations.

  • Comfortable working in operational environments that may require strict site access, quarantine, or biosecurity protocols, particularly when visiting active pig-farming facilities.

  • Flexible to take on new industries, operational environments, and responsibilities as the group's business priorities evolve.

Language

  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for management reporting, international stakeholder communication, and coordination with overseas vendors and partners.
