Captain Barista

Job Description

1. Lead and supervise the barista team during daily operations

2. Ensure all beverages are prepared according to standard recipes and quality standards

3. Monitor and maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and service

4. Oversee daily bar operations, including opening and closing procedures

5. Handle coffee machine calibration, grinder adjustment, and equipment maintenance

6. Train and guide barista team to improve skills, product knowledge, and service quality

7. Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the bar area at all times

8. Manage stock levels, conduct inventory checks, and coordinate ordering of supplies

9. Minimize waste and support cost control initiatives

10. Handle customer feedback and resolve issues in a professional manner

11. Coordinate with floor team and kitchen to ensure smooth service flow

12. Assist in creating new beverage menus and improving existing offerings

13. Prepare daily or weekly reports related to bar performance

14. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards

Job Requirements

1. Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Barista, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or captain role

2. Strong knowledge of coffee preparation, brewing methods, and latte art

3. Experience in handling coffee machine, grinder calibration, and daily maintenance

4. Able to lead, train, and supervise the barista team

5. Good understanding of service standards and customer experience

6. Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills

7. Able to handle high-volume service and work under pressure

8. Knowledge in inventory control, stock management, and ordering

9. Basic understanding of cost control and waste management

10. Well-organized, detail-oriented, and proactive

11. Friendly personality with a positive attitude and service mindset

12. Able to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the bar area

13. Familiar with POS system and basic reporting

14. Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
