Barista

About the role

A barista role in a coffee shop or cafe environment, focused on delivering high-quality beverages and food, maintaining guest satisfaction, and supporting smooth daily operations in a fast-paced setting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare food and beverages according to standard recipes or custom requests, including adjustments to temperature, ingredient portions, or substitutions

• Ensure a high level of guest satisfaction is consistently delivered

• Engage with customers warmly and attentively, identifying and fulfilling their needs through clear, friendly communication

• Anticipate customer and store needs by observing the environment and responding proactively

• Handle cash and operate a register

• Adhere to company policies and procedures on cash handling, hygiene, safety, and security to maintain a safe and efficient workplace

• Maintain regular, punctual attendance and follow assigned cleaning and maintenance schedules

• Ensure all required operational records are accurately maintained during each shift

• Perform various tasks as assigned by management to support smooth daily operations

About you

• Proven experience as barista or similar role in a coffee shop or cafe

• Knowledge of brewing techniques, beverage preparation, and presentation

• Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude

• Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high service standards

• Knowledge of health and safety standards, including hygiene and food handling practices

• Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team
