About the role

Amexina Cantika Indonesia is seeking a skilled Translator Mandarin to join our team in Tangerang, Banten. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in facilitating communication between our organisation and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders, partners, and communities. As a Translator Mandarin, you will be instrumental in ensuring accurate, culturally sensitive translations that support our government and local administration objectives. This position is based on-site in Tangerang, Banten, where you will contribute to our mission of bridging linguistic and cultural gaps within the local government sector.

Key responsibilities

• Translating official documents, correspondence, and communications from Mandarin to Indonesian and English, ensuring accuracy and maintaining the integrity of original content

• Translating policy documents, reports, and administrative materials required for local government operations and public communications

• Providing interpretation services during meetings, negotiations, and formal events involving Mandarin-speaking delegates, officials, or stakeholders

• Ensuring translations adhere to local government terminology standards and protocols

• Collaborating with government departments and local administration teams to understand context-specific translation requirements

• Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive government documents and information

• Proofreading and quality-checking translated materials to ensure consistency and accuracy

• Supporting the development and maintenance of translation resources and terminology databases for government use

What we're looking for

• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (both written and spoken) at a professional level, with equivalent proficiency in Indonesian and English

• Proven experience as a translator or interpreter, preferably within a government, public sector, or formal organisational environment

• Strong understanding of government terminology, administrative procedures, and protocol in the Indonesian local government context

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately convey complex ideas and technical information across languages

• Cultural awareness and sensitivity, with the ability to adapt communication styles appropriately for formal government interactions

• Professional certification in translation or interpretation, or equivalent demonstrated experience

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple translation projects with competing deadlines

• Experience in working within formal, regulated environments is highly desirable

• Knowledge of Mandarin regional dialects or additional language capabilities would be advantageous
