Quantity Surveyor / Estimator (Furniture & Interior Fit-Out)

About the role

PT OTA Indonesia (Otazen), a growing independent global-scale furniture manufacturing company, is looking for detail-oriented Quantity Surveyors, Estimators, and Costing professionals to join our team. We are hiring across three areas, and we will place you where your experience fits best:

• Quantity Surveyor (Site): based at project sites, verifying actual quantities and cost of furniture and interior fit-out work

• Estimator (Quantity Surveying Department): based in Klaten, preparing BOQs, cost estimates, and quotations for tenders and new projects

• Costing Staff / Cost Estimator (Costing Department): based in Klaten, calculating BOM and product costs to support production and cost control

Key responsibilities

Quantity Surveyor (Site)

• Study drawings, specifications, and BOQ, and measure actual work on site (daily/weekly)

• Compare actual quantities with the BOQ, identify deviations, and calculate variation orders

• Prepare progress quantity reports as the basis for payment terms, and verify vendor/subcontractor claims

• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Technical team, and client representatives, and keep site documentation organized

Estimator (Quantity Surveying Department)

• Perform quantity take-off from architectural, interior, and tender drawings

• Prepare BOQ, cost estimates, and quotations according to client requests, target prices, and deadlines

• Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations, and maintain the unit price database

• Propose value engineering alternatives to meet target prices without reducing quality

Costing Staff / Cost Estimator (Costing Department)

• Calculate BOM and product costs (material, labor, and production overhead) from engineering drawings

• Create and update BOM data in the ERP system (Odoo), and maintain the material and price database

• Compare estimated cost against actual material usage, report variances, and recommend cost-saving alternatives

• Support customer quotation preparation and pricing analysis

All roles also

• Coordinate with Technical, Drafter, Purchasing, Production, Marketing, and Finance teams on scope, specifications, and prices

About you

• Diploma (D3) or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Engineering, Wood Engineering, or a related field

• Experience: minimum 3 years for Quantity Surveyor (Site); minimum 2 years for Estimator; 1–3 years for Costing Staff / Cost Estimator. Furniture or interior fit-out background preferred

• Solid understanding of furniture and interior fit-out materials, construction methods, and unit price analysis

• Able to read technical drawings (AutoCAD, PDF drawings) and perform accurate quantity take-off

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Odoo is an added value

• Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail

• Good communication and coordination skills, including in English

• For the Site Quantity Surveyor role: willing to be placed at project sites
