Requirements – Hot Cook (Mexican Restaurant)

Qualifications

1. Minimum education of Vocational High School in Culinary Arts or equivalent.

2. Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Hot Cook or Line Cook, preferably in a Mexican restaurant, hotel, or international restaurant.

3. Basic to good knowledge of Mexican cuisine, including tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, fajitas, and nachos.

4. Familiarity with hot kitchen cooking techniques such as grilling, sautéing, frying, roasting, and pan-searing.

5. Knowledge of Mexican ingredients, including tortillas, jalapeños, chili peppers, beans, corn, tomatoes, avocado, and various spices.

6. Ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and food presentation guidelines.

7. Understanding of food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and proper food storage procedures.

8. Ability to maintain food quality, taste, and consistency during service.

9. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

10. Good teamwork, communication, discipline, and time management skills.

11. Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

12. Basic English communication skills are an advantage.
