Head of International Medical Referral Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Director / Head of International Medical Referral Operations to lead the development and operations of our international medical referral business in Indonesia. This leadership role will focus on building strategic partnerships with local hospitals, healthcare providers, doctors, and insurance institutions while establishing cross-border healthcare collaboration with partner hospitals in China. The successful candidate will oversee business strategy, operational performance, channel development, team management, and the end-to-end patient referral experience, driving sustainable business growth in the international healthcare sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop business strategies, annual operating plans, and growth targets for the Indonesian market

• Lead the overall operations of the international medical referral business

• Establish operational SOPs, performance management systems, and service quality standards

• Monitor revenue, operating costs, customer conversion rates, and business profitability

• Build and maintain strategic relationships with hospitals, private clinics, specialist doctors, healthcare groups, and insurance providers in Indonesia

• Establish long-term partnerships with hospitals and medical institutions in China

• Lead commercial negotiations, partnership agreements, and strategic healthcare projects

• Identify new market opportunities in specialized treatments, including oncology, cardiovascular care, neurological conditions, and complex medical cases

• Oversee patient consultations, medical document collection, case assessments, hospital matching, and treatment coordination

• Build, lead, train, and evaluate the business development, patient coordination, and customer service teams

About you

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health, Hospital Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field

• 5–8+ years of relevant experience in healthcare, medical services, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or related industries

• At least 3 years of experience in team leadership, business operations, or business development management

• Proven experience in healthcare partnerships, hospital business development, medical referral services, or international patient services

• Strong understanding of healthcare business models, hospital operations, and patient service processes

• Demonstrated ability to develop business strategies, manage budgets, and achieve commercial targets

• Excellent leadership, negotiation, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination skills

• Strong business communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia
