About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Design & Technical to join our Jakarta Barat office on a full-time basis. This is a strategic leadership position that will oversee both the creative design vision and technical execution of our projects. As Head of Design & Technical, you will be responsible for driving design excellence, ensuring technical rigor, and leading a talented team to deliver outstanding architectural solutions. This role is pivotal in establishing our design standards and ensuring seamless integration between creative concepts and technical implementation across all project phases.

Key responsibilities

1. Lead and mentor the design and technical teams, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous professional development

2. Oversee all design concepts and technical documentation, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, creativity, and construct ability

3. Develop and implement design strategies and technical guidelines that align with the firm's vision and industry best practices

4. Manage the coordination between design, technical, and engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive project delivery

5. Review and approve architectural drawings, specifications, and technical details at all project stages

6. Identify and develop new business opportunities through client relationships, networking, and industry engagement.

7. Lead design presentations, pitches, and proposals to prospective clients.

8. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop winning concepts and project strategies.

9. Build long-term relationships with clients, consultants, and industry partners.

10. Convert creative ideas into commercially viable project opportunities.

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 12 years of professional experience in architectural design and technical project management, with at least 4 years in a senior or leadership role

2. Strong background in design development, technical documentation, and construction administration across diverse project typologies

3. Proven expertise in architectural standards, building codes, and regulatory compliance in Indonesia and/or Southeast Asia

4. Demonstrated proficiency with industry-standard design and technical software.

5. Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams

6. Outstanding communication skills with the ability to articulate design concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

7. Strong project management skills with experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects

8. A portfolio demonstrating significant architectural projects from concept through completion

9. Knowledge of sustainable design practices and green building certification systems is advantageous
