Director of Engineering

About the role

Lago Bali is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to join our management team on a full-time basis. Based in Nusa Lembongan, Klungkung, Bali, this is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing all engineering, maintenance and facilities operations across our hospitality property. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our resort operates at the highest standards of safety, efficiency and guest satisfaction through effective management of our engineering department and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the engineering and maintenance team, providing direction, training and performance management to ensure operational excellence

• Oversee all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, SWRO and HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment and facilities

• Manage the engineering budget, including capital expenditure planning, procurement and cost control

• Conduct regular inspections of resort facilities, identifying maintenance needs and prioritizing repairs

• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards and environmental regulations

• Coordinate with other departments to address facility-related guest concerns and operational issues

• Plan and oversee renovation, upgrade and sustainability initiatives across the property

• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment performance and asset management

• Implement energy efficiency measures and waste management practices to reduce operational costs

What we're looking for

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in engineering, facilities management or maintenance operations within the hospitality industry

• Proven track record in managing engineering teams and leading maintenance operations at a resort or large hotel property

• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems commonly found in hospitality facilities

• Excellent understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations relevant to hospitality operations

• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs and make capital investment decisions

• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

• Relevant engineering qualifications or certifications (preferred)

• Fluency in English is advantageous
