About the role

Valstar Hotel is seeking a Cook Daily Worker to join our culinary team at our Badung, Bali location. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. As a Cook Daily Worker, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals to the highest standards, ensuring consistency, quality and presentation across all our food service operations. This role is essential to maintaining Valstar Hotel's reputation for outstanding hospitality and memorable culinary experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and chef instructions

• Ensure all food is prepared and cooked to the required standard for taste, texture, presentation and portion size

• Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment, including kitchen stations and equipment, in accordance with health and safety regulations

• Receive and store ingredients and supplies appropriately, checking quality and expiry dates

• Follow food safety protocols and proper handling procedures at all times

• Assist with food portioning, plating and garnishing as directed by senior kitchen staff

• Collaborate with other kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations and timely service

• Support inventory management and report any damaged or spoiled items to the kitchen supervisor

• Maintain personal hygiene standards and wear appropriate chef attire

• Respond promptly to kitchen orders and adapt to changing priorities throughout service

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a cook in a professional kitchen or hotel environment

• Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods

• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistent quality

• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team

• Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings and weekends as required

• Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred

• Knowledge of local Balinese cuisine would be advantageous
