Building Facility Supervisor

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all building maintenance and repair activities to ensure facilities operate efficiently and safely

• Manage the building facilities team, including scheduling, training, and performance monitoring of maintenance staff

• Conduct regular inspections of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural elements to identify maintenance needs

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency issues, ensuring minimal disruption to building operations

• Maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment servicing

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards applicable to building operations

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of building systems and equipment

• Liaise with external contractors and vendors to coordinate specialised repairs and services

• Monitor and manage building utilities and costs, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements

• Prepare reports on facility conditions, maintenance activities, and budget requirements for senior management

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years of experience in building facilities management or building services engineering

• Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural maintenance

• Proven experience in supervising and managing maintenance teams and contractors

• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements in building management

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving facility issues

• Competence in using maintenance management software and computer systems

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams and stakeholders

• Relevant technical certifications or qualifications in building services engineering or facility management (preferred)
