System Analyst / Technical Business Analyst - Financial Services

Job Description

The Business Analyst is responsible for bridging the gap between business requirements and technology solutions. The role ensures that stakeholder needs are properly understood, translated into clear and actionable system requirements, and effectively communicated to the technical team for implementation.

The Business Analyst will work closely with business and technical stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure that the delivered solution meets business objectives and user expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, validate, and document business and system requirements from relevant stakeholders.

• Conduct requirements elicitation and analysis through stakeholder interviews, workshops, observations, and document reviews.

• Develop comprehensive requirements documentation, including Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Documents (FRD), Use Cases, and other relevant system specifications.

• Define requirements from the end-user perspective, including detailed functional and non-functional requirements for the proposed solution.

• Translate business needs into clear, structured, and actionable requirements that can be effectively understood and implemented by technical teams.

• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Developers, QA Engineers, UI/UX Designers, and other project stakeholders.

• Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure the delivered solution aligns with agreed business requirements.

• Manage requirement changes and conduct impact analysis to assess their implications on scope, timelines, processes, and system functionality.

• Identify opportunities and provide IT-driven recommendations to improve business processes and operational efficiency.

• Ensure all project and requirements documentation remains accurate, complete, and up to date throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Informatics Engineering, Information Management, or a related field.

• Proven experience in delivering custom, enterprise-scale applications as a Business Analyst, particularly within IT projects in the financial services industry.

• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.

• Ability to create and interpret UML diagrams, including Use Case, Activity, and Sequence Diagrams.

• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Experienced in working with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to produce clear, structured, and comprehensive project documentation.
