Specification Engineer Intern

About the role

As a Specification Engineer Intern, you will primarily support the clean-up, structuring, standardization, and improvement of technical documentation across Zettabyte's software platforms. You will work with specification documents, test plans, test cases, checklists, bug reports, and testing documentation while learning how software requirements are translated into structured and testable specifications. You will also be expected to use AI tools such as ChatGPT or similar platforms to support documentation creation, specification drafting, testing preparation, and other technical activities. This internship provides hands-on exposure to software specification, quality assurance, testing, technical documentation, and AI-assisted engineering workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Support the clean-up and restructuring of technical documentation to improve clarity, consistency, and standardization

• Use AI tools such as ChatGPT to assist with specification drafting, testing scenarios, documentation formats, and technical documentation

• Create and improve prompts for AI across different Specification, QA, and software-related topics

• Assist in preparing structured specification documents, checklists, test plans, and test cases under supervision

• Execute software testing based on provided specifications and documentation

• Identify and report bugs accurately and promptly

• Prepare testing reports summarizing tested features, scenarios, and results

• Provide feedback related to software functionality, non-functionality, and user experience

• Review documentation for completeness, clarity, and consistency

• Collaborate with Specification Engineers and Developers to support continuous improvement of specification and testing processes

About you

• Final-year student or Fresh Graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

• Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT or similar platforms

• Able to demonstrate how AI can be used for different technical topics and structured documentation

• Strong interest in learning software development, specification, testing, and AI-assisted work processes

• Familiar with creating or maintaining checklists, test plans, and test cases

• Basic understanding of bug reporting and the software bug life cycle

• Strong logical thinking and attention to detail

• Able to organize information clearly and systematically

• Proactive, curious, self-motivated, and willing to learn
