Purchasing Manager

One of the leading retail companies is looking for a Purchasing Manager to support its procurement operations and business needs.

This position requires a candidate with proven experience in Purchasing or Procurement, preferably within the Retail or FMCG industry, with strong capabilities in vendor management, negotiation, import purchasing, and team leadership.

On a day-to-day basis, this position will be responsible for the following:

• Import Purchasing & Procurement: Manage the end-to-end import purchasing process, including sourcing and purchasing goods from China and other international markets, while ensuring compliance with import procedures and company requirements.

• Purchase Order Management: Manage purchase orders based on business requirements and requests from key stakeholders, including sourcing raw materials, identifying new materials, and fulfilling new purchasing requirements.

• Vendor Management & Negotiation: Build and maintain relationships with local and international vendors, negotiate competitive pricing and commercial terms, and ensure optimal purchasing value.

• Commercial Negotiation & Deal Closing: Lead vendor negotiations and secure favorable agreements in terms of pricing, quality, delivery schedules, and payment terms to support business objectives.

• Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination: Lead and develop the purchasing team to support retail operations and manufacturing requirements, ensuring efficient procurement processes and timely fulfillment of business needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven experience in Purchasing, Procurement, or Strategic Sourcing, preferably in the Retail, FMCG, or related industry.

• Demonstrated experience managing import purchasing and international suppliers, particularly suppliers from China or other overseas markets.

• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and commercial decision-making skills.

• Solid understanding of purchase order management, supplier evaluation, pricing structures, and procurement processes.

• Familiarity with import documentation, shipping arrangements, customs clearance, and relevant import regulations.

• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate costs, identify savings opportunities, and support data-driven purchasing decisions.

• Proven leadership experience, including the ability to manage, coach, and develop a purchasing team.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across retail, manufacturing, finance, and other business functions.

• Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
