About the role

PT. Yeakin Plastic Industry is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Purchaser to join our procurement team. This is a full-time position based in Batam, Riau Islands, Indonesia. As a Purchaser, you will play a crucial role in sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials and services that support our manufacturing operations. This position is essential to ensuring the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our supply chain, directly contributing to the success of our plastics manufacturing business.

What you'll be doing

• Identifying, evaluating and selecting suppliers that meet quality, cost and delivery standards

• Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favourable conditions

• Creating and maintaining purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing

• Monitoring supplier performance and managing relationships to ensure consistent quality and on-time delivery

• Coordinating with internal departments to understand material and service requirements

• Conducting market research to identify new suppliers and opportunities for cost savings

• Managing inventory levels by forecasting demand and coordinating with warehouse and production teams

• Processing invoices, resolving discrepancies and ensuring adherence to payment terms

• Maintaining detailed procurement records and documentation

• Supporting the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in purchasing, procurement or inventory management within a manufacturing or industrial environment

• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to achieve cost savings whilst maintaining quality standards

• Proficiency in supplier evaluation, selection and relationship management

• Knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management and inventory control

• Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail

• Proficiency with procurement software, ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications

• Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and Mandarin Chinese is advantageous

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

• Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field is preferred
