Production Manager

About the role

Establish and oversee the Production Department, including factory layout, capacity planning, and production line design. Lead recruitment and training of frontline workers and design compensation schemes. Establish production management systems including SOPs, production scheduling, material loss management, and on-site management. Oversee production operations to achieve KPIs such as production output, yield rate, loss rate, and unit cost. Coordinate across departments with Quality, Equipment, and Warehouse/Logistics teams.

Key Responsibilities 

A. Factory Setup and Production System Development 

• Participate in factory layout planning, production capacity planning, and production line setup.

• Establish production SOPs, production schedules, reporting systems, 6S practices, piece-rate incentive scheme and train local frontline workers for bird’s nest cleaning, washing, and packaging.

 B. Production Management and Cost Control

•  Manage daily production to achieve targets for output, processing yield, material loss, labor productivity, product quality, and unit processing cost.

• Continuously improve bird’s nest cleaning efficiency, processing yield, and production workflows.

• Monitor production KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

C. Workforce Management 

• Lead and develop a large frontline workforce of 100+ employees, including production supervisors and team leaders.

• Improve employee productivity, retention, and attendance through effective training, performance management, and incentive systems.

 D. Cross-Functional Coordination

•  Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, Logistics, and Procurement to ensure smooth production operations.

• Report production performance, operational risks, and improvement plans accurately to the Factory Manager and Chinese headquarters.

2. Job Requirements 

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

• At least 8 years of experience in food or agricultural product processing, with 5+ years in a Production Manager or equivalent leadership role.

• Proven experience establishing a factory, production line, or production management system from the ground up is strongly preferred.

• Experience in bird’s nest processing is highly preferred. Candidates from seafood, meat processing, nuts, cocoa, or coffee processing are also encouraged to apply.

• Strong knowledge of production planning, SOP development, processing yield, material loss control, labor productivity, and cost management.

• Proven ability to manage 100+ frontline employees and improve productivity, employee retention, and production efficiency.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use production data to drive measurable improvements.

• Familiarity with food safety, hygiene, and manufacturing quality requirements.

• Native or professional-level Indonesian and working proficiency in English, including meetings and written reports.

Hands-on leadership, high accountability, integrity, and the ability to work in a factory environment still under development.
