Math Teacher

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Math Teacher to join Veritas Intercultural School Bali, operated by Yayasan Starken Cahaya Dewata. This is a full-time position based in Badung, Bali. As a Math Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping young minds and fostering a love for mathematics among secondary school students. You will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality mathematics instruction that challenges students to think critically and develop problem-solving skills. This role is essential to our mission of providing excellent intercultural education and preparing students for success in their academic and professional futures.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging mathematics lessons that align with the school curriculum and cater to diverse learning styles

• Create and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and intellectual curiosity

• Assess student progress through regular formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support learning

• Set clear learning objectives and use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to help students achieve academic goals

• Mark and evaluate student work promptly and thoroughly, documenting progress and identifying areas for intervention

• Communicate regularly with students, parents and guardians regarding academic performance and progress

• Contribute to school events, activities and extracurricular programmes as required

• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials and share best practices in mathematics education

• Maintain detailed records of attendance, grades and student development

• Adhere to school policies, procedures and codes of conduct

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related discipline

• Recognised teaching qualification or teacher certification relevant to secondary mathematics instruction

• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at secondary level or equivalent professional experience in mathematics education

• Strong knowledge of mathematics curriculum and pedagogical approaches for secondary students

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate diverse learners

• Proficiency in using technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning

• Ability to differentiate instruction to support students with varying abilities and learning needs

• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities

• Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practice

• Understanding of intercultural education principles and ability to create an inclusive learning environment

• Experience in an international school setting is desirable

• Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum is a plus
