Mandarin Interpreter (Business & Manufacturing)

About the Role

We are looking for a Mandarin Interpreter to support management in business meetings, visits from Chinese business partners, and daily communication between Chinese-speaking guests and Indonesian teams.

The ideal candidate should have good Mandarin communication skills, be able to communicate professionally in a business setting, and be willing to learn technical terminology related to steel manufacturing and machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide accurate Mandarin–Indonesian and Indonesian–Mandarin interpretation during business meetings, factory visits, and discussions with Chinese business partners.

• Assist management in communicating with Chinese guests, suppliers, customers, and business associates.

• Translate business conversations and documents when required.

• Accompany management during business trips, meetings, and other official activities as needed.

• Facilitate communication between Chinese-speaking personnel and local teams.

• Learn and understand basic technical terminology related to steel manufacturing, production processes, and machinery.

• Maintain professionalism, accuracy, confidentiality, and clear communication at all times.

Requirements

• Minimum Senior High School (SMA/SMK) graduate; a degree or diploma in Chinese Language, Mandarin Studies, or a related field is preferred.

• Able to communicate fluently in Mandarin and Indonesian, both verbally and in writing.

• Able to use polite, formal, and professional Mandarin in business meetings and official settings.

• Familiar with Simplified Chinese characters and Pinyin.

• Good communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills.

• Willing to accompany management for business meetings, factory visits, and business trips when required.

• Responsible, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to maintain confidentiality.

• Previous experience as a Mandarin interpreter is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Basic understanding of machinery, production processes, or steel manufacturing terminology.

• Ability to learn and communicate technical information accurately.

This position is based at our steel manufacturing facility in Tangerang and requires a six-day working schedule.

The salary range is Rp8,000,000 – Rp13,500,000 per month (Negotiable, depending on qualifications, Mandarin proficiency, relevant experience, and overall competency).
