HVAC Engineer - Surabaya

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to join PT. Gree Electric Appliances Indonesia in Surabaya, East Java. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. As an HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance and reliability of our systems whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. This position is essential to supporting our customers and maintaining our reputation as a leading provider of climate control solutions in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC and refrigeration systems tailored to meet specific customer and project requirements

• Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine appropriate system specifications and installation requirements

• Oversee the installation, commissioning and testing of HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting of existing systems to identify and resolve faults

• Prepare technical documentation, including system designs, installation manuals and maintenance schedules

• Collaborate with installation teams, contractors and clients to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget

• Conduct performance audits and efficiency assessments of installed systems

• Ensure all work complies with relevant safety regulations, environmental standards and industry codes

• Provide training, technical support and advice to customers regarding system operation and maintenance

• Stay current with advancements in HVAC and refrigeration technology and best practices

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in HVAC and refrigeration system design, installation or maintenance

• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, thermodynamics and heat transfer principles

• Familiar in HVAC design software and CAD applications

• Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of air conditioning and refrigeration systems

• Understanding of electrical systems and their integration with HVAC equipment

• Familiarity with Indonesian and international HVAC standards and safety regulations

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with teams and clients

• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required

Good communication skill

• Certification in HVAC or refrigeration (such as EPA certification or equivalent) is highly desirable
