General Manager

About the role

As a visible, day-to-day leader, the General Manager will be accountable for guest experience, guest communications, front office and service standards; food and beverage, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance and property presentation; hospitality-team leadership, training and development; safety, security and emergency preparedness; budgets, cost control and operating performance; and effective coordination with the separately managed Finance, Dive Center, Reservations and Marketing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Guest experience, guest communications, front office and service standards

• Food and beverage, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance and property presentation

• Hospitality-team leadership, training and development

• Safety, security and emergency preparedness

• Budgets, cost control and operating performance

• Effective coordination with the separately managed Finance, Dive Center, Reservations and Marketing teams

About you

• Senior management experience in a quality resort, hotel or hospitality operation

• Strong knowledge of rooms, food and beverage, guest service and property operations

• Proven leadership of multicultural teams, with a fair and consistent management style

• Sound financial and commercial judgement, strong organization and a practical approach to solving problems

• Excellent guest-relations and communication skills, including strong written and spoken English

• Willingness to dive and snorkel as part of the role is required

• Experience in Indonesia, Southeast Asia, boutique resorts or remote destinations is an advantage

• Bahasa Indonesia is highly valued

• Knowledge of dive tourism is beneficial
