WHAT YOU WILL OWN
1. Management accounting and reporting
Monthly management accounts for the company and for each project: budget, committed cost, actual cost, forecast cost at completion, variance and the reason behind each variance.
Cash flow forecasting and the payment calendar across all active projects, so that the company knows its position weeks ahead and not on the day a payment is due.
Reporting to the owner and to investors in English, in a fixed format, on a fixed date. Reports that arrive late or change shape every month are treated as a failure of the function.
Multi-currency discipline: contracts denominated in USD, EUR or GBP recorded correctly in IDR at the rate applicable on the document date, with the original currency and amount preserved and traceable.
2. Project cost control
Ownership of the project cost control system: budgets, contracts, variation orders, payment certificates, deductions, retention and contingency, tracked per project and per cost code.
Unification of the cost taxonomy across the company into a cost code master, and enforcement of it - every contract, invoice and payment coded once, coded correctly, and reconcilable to the project budget.
Cost-to-complete analysis and early warning: your job is to tell management that a project is going to overrun while there is still time to act, not to report it after the election money is spent.
Commercial support on contractor claims, deductions, terminations and final accounts, working with the technical office and, where necessary, with legal counsel.
3. Contract and payment control
Review of every contract and payment request against the company's Contract and Payment Approval Standard: correct scope, correct value, correct payment terms, budget availability, supporting documentation complete, approvals in sequence.
Control of the approval chain and escalation thresholds, including the investor approval threshold for large commitments.
Verification that what is being paid for has actually been delivered and technically accepted, and that retention, advance recovery and penalties are applied as the contract provides.
Vendor and contractor master data: payment terms, bank details verification, tax status, performance history.
4. ERP selection and implementation
Define the requirements, evaluate and recommend the system, negotiate the commercial terms, and lead the implementation to go-live.
Design the chart of accounts and the cost structure so that management accounting, project cost control and statutory reporting come from one source of data.
Plan and control the migration of existing contract, payment and budget history; no loss of traceability is acceptable.
Write the resulting procedures and train the team to work inside the system rather than around it.
5. Treasury, controls and compliance
Bank relationships, payment execution control, segregation of duties, and the discipline that no payment leaves the company without documented approval.
Supervision of the external tax consultant: PPh, PPN and e-Faktur, Coretax filings and statutory reporting for a PMA company. You are accountable for correctness and deadlines even though the filing work is outsourced.
Preparation for and management of the annual audit, and closure of audit findings.
Internal control design: approval limits, four-eyes principle, document retention, and protection of the company against fraud and against weak paperwork in a dispute.
6. Team and management
Lead the finance and administration staff: set the standard, set the deadlines, review the output, develop the people.
Hold contractors, vendors and internal departments to the company's financial procedure - politely, consistently, and without exception.
Bring proposals to management, not problems: an issue raised without a recommended decision is unfinished work.
REQUIREMENTS
S1 degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics. Professional qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA, full or in progress) is a strong advantage. Brevet A and B an advantage.
Minimum 7 years in finance, including at least 3 years in a managerial position with people reporting to you. This is a management role and will not be given to a senior accountant without leadership experience.
Mandatory: experience working in a foreign-owned (PMA) or international company, with the reporting discipline, English-language documentation and formal control environment that such companies require. This requirement is not negotiable.
Demonstrated ERP experience: implementation, migration or full system ownership. Be prepared to explain exactly which system, what your role was, what went wrong and how you fixed it.
Advanced Google Workspace capability, Google Sheets in particular - complex models, linked workbooks, data validation, pivot and query functions, shared reporting structures. Excel-only candidates will need to demonstrate they can work natively in Sheets.
Working English, spoken and written: management reporting, approval threads and investor communication are in English. Fluent Bahasa Indonesia.
Experience in construction, property development, hospitality or another project-based business is a significant advantage; understanding of project cost control is essential regardless of industry.
Audit firm background, or experience of being audited and closing findings, is an advantage.
Absolute integrity, and the willingness to say no to a payment and defend that position to anyone in the
company.
