Finance Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Supervisor to join PT. China State Construction Overseas Development Shanghai on a contract basis. This position is based in West Jakarta, Jakarta and is critical to maintaining robust financial accounting and reporting practices across our operations. As Finance Supervisor, you will play a vital role in overseeing the day-to-day financial activities, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting the broader finance team in delivering timely and reliable financial information to senior management and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance

• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations

• Review and reconcile financial transactions, resolving discrepancies and ensuring data integrity

• Oversee the work of accounting staff, providing guidance, training and performance feedback to team members

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting documentation

• Maintain and update accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with company standards

• Prepare variance analysis reports and investigate significant deviations from budget or forecast

• Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities, providing necessary documentation and explanations

• Support the development and implementation of accounting systems and process improvements

• Ensure compliance with local Indonesian financial regulations and reporting requirements

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity

• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, standards and practices, including IFRS or local Indonesian accounting standards

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to work with complex spreadsheets and data analysis

• Excellent understanding of month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations and consolidation processes

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across all levels of the organisation

• Knowledge of Indonesian tax and regulatory compliance requirements is highly desirable

• Proficiency in English and Indonesian language (both written and verbal) is essential; Mandarin speakers are more preferable

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional qualifications (such as CPA or equivalent) are preferred
