Cooling Tower Operator

About the role

Responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the cooling tower system to ensure efficient heat rejection, stable condenser-water temperature, good water quality, and reliable operation of the chiller system.

Key responsibilities

• Operate cooling tower equipment according to the approved operating schedule

• Start and stop cooling tower fans, condenser water pumps, and associated equipment

• Monitor cooling tower operation and ensure proper water circulation

• Monitor condenser water supply and return temperature

• Check and record pH, TDS, conductivity and other required water-quality parameters

• Maintain cooling tower water within the approved operating limits

• Conduct regular blowdown based on TDS/conductivity readings

• Inspect and clean cooling tower basin, strainers, nozzles, fill, eliminators, and other components as scheduled

• Coordinate cooling tower operation with the chiller operator

• Maintain operating records that can be used to evaluate chiller and cooling-tower efficiency
