Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Placement: Palembang, South Sumatra

Our client, a leading multinational company in the natural resources processing industry, is seeking an experienced and highly capable Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its Indonesia operations.

The CEO will have overall responsibility for the Indonesia business, overseeing multiple natural rubber processing facilities and a large-scale organization. The role requires a strategic and hands-on business leader who can drive profitable growth, operational excellence, organizational transformation, sustainability, and strong corporate governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the short- and long-term business strategy in alignment with regional and global objectives.

• Take full P&L responsibility for the Indonesia operations, including revenue, EBITDA, cash flow, OPEX, CAPEX, and overall business performance.

• Lead and integrate operations across multiple natural rubber processing plants, ensuring consistent standards in production, quality, maintenance, engineering, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.

• Drive operational improvements, Lean Manufacturing, productivity enhancement, cost optimization, digitalization, and automation initiatives.

• Oversee end-to-end Supply Chain, Procurement, Commercial, Finance, HR, Engineering, HSE, Sustainability, and Corporate Affairs functions.

• Strengthen relationships with key customers, government authorities, industry associations, business partners, and local communities.

• Ensure strong implementation of ESG, sustainability, responsible sourcing, environmental compliance, and occupational health & safety standards.

• Ensure effective corporate governance, risk management, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and adherence to Group policies.

• Lead a large organization and strengthen talent development, succession planning, leadership capability, accountability, and performance culture.

• Act as the primary liaison between the Indonesia organization, Regional Management, and Group Headquarters.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience, with significant experience in senior management or C-suite positions.

• Proven track record in managing large-scale, multi-site manufacturing or industrial operations.

• Strong experience in full P&L management, business strategy, operational performance, and financial governance.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain, procurement, cost management, and continuous improvement.

• Demonstrated experience in leading organizational change, business transformation, and operational improvements.

• Strong leadership skills, with proven experience in managing organizational change and driving sustainable improvements in operational performance.

• Experience leading large organizations with thousands of employees and managing senior functional leaders.

• Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to balance operational capability, customer requirements, profitability, and long-term growth.

• Exposure to ESG, sustainability, HSE, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance is highly desirable.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with Regional and Global Headquarters.

• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

• Candidates with experience in natural rubber, agricultural commodities, chemicals, automotive, manufacturing, heavy industry, or other process-based industries will be considered.
