Business Development Executive (Metal Trading Company)

This role is responsible for driving new business growth through cold outreach, site visits, and presentations to manufacturers, while also managing existing client accounts to ensure repeat business and resolve operational issues. It requires a proactive individual comfortable with extensive field work in the industrial sector.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a target list of manufacturers across Jabodetabek and surrounding industrial areas

• Conduct cold outreach, site visits and presentations to key contacts

• Gather samples and material information, and coordinate with the Director on pricing

• Report on pipeline, visit activity, and conversion

• Act as the first point of contact for enquiries arriving through our partner network

• Handle the full cycle: enquiry, quotation, pickup scheduling, documentation, invoicing follow-up

• Maintain regular contact with active suppliers to secure repeat volume

• Resolve grading, weighing or payment issues promptly and keep the Director informed

• Maintain accurate records of accounts, volumes and transactions

• Liaise with our warehouse and logistics team on collection schedules

• Support communication with our overseas counterparts where language assistance is needed

• Contribute to marketing material, company profile updates and supplier-facing documents

Qualifications

• Must: Minimum 2 years of B2B sales, business development or account management experience

• Must: Professional working English, written and spoken

• Must: Valid SIM A and willing to drive to sites across Greater Jakarta and West Java

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in either Engineering, Material Science, Technology, or Geology

• Preferred: Experience in metals, recycling, industrial supply, machining or manufacturing

• Preferred: Experience in the industrial, manufacturing, logistics or commodities sectors

• Indonesian national, currently resident in Jabodetabek

• Comfortable with field work, regularly visiting factories

• Organized, able to follow up without being chased, and honest in reporting

• Nice to Have: Can speak and understand Japanese

• Nice to Have: Personal car
