About the role

The Building Improvement role is responsible for managing and coordinating building enhancement, renovation, interior design, and tenant fit-out projects within the mall environment. This role oversees the entire project lifecycle, from design development and budget planning to site supervision and project completion, ensuring compliance with technical standards, building regulations, safety requirements, and operational needs. The position works closely with tenants, contractors, consultants, and internal departments to maintain the mall's aesthetics, functionality, and facility standards while enhancing the overall visitor experience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop design concepts and improvement plans for building interiors, public areas, and facilities to enhance aesthetics, functionality, visitor experience, and alignment with the company's brand identity.

• Prepare detailed technical drawings, including working drawings, shop drawings, layout plans, and design specifications as references for project execution.

• Prepare project cost estimates and Budget Plans (RAB), monitor project expenditures, and ensure cost efficiency in accordance with approved budgets.

• Manage project administration, technical documentation, progress reports, and project completion records for management review.

• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors, tenants, and internal departments to ensure effective project planning and execution.

• Supervise and monitor building improvement, renovation, and fit-out projects to ensure compliance with approved designs, technical specifications, quality standards, budgets, and project timelines.

• Conduct regular site inspections to evaluate work progress, identify technical issues, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

• Assess existing building conditions and public facilities to identify opportunities for maintenance, renovation, space optimization, and continuous improvement.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, HSE, and Operations teams to ensure projects comply with technical requirements, safety standards, and operational constraints without significantly disrupting mall activities.

• Review tenant fit-out proposals and monitor fit-out execution, where applicable, to ensure compliance with building guidelines, technical standards, and mall regulations.

About you

• Bachelor's degree (S1) in Interior Design or Architecture.

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in Building Improvement, Interior Design, Fit-Out Projects, Renovation, or related fields.

• Experience in the shopping mall, commercial property, retail, or mixed-use building industry is highly preferred.

• Proven experience in handling building improvement, renovation, interior fit-out, or public-area enhancement projects, preferably within a mall environment.

• Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp, with the ability to prepare technical drawings and detailed design layouts.

• Capable of producing 3D renderings, design concepts, and professional project presentations.

• Good understanding of construction materials, finishing specifications, building components, and interior design principles.

• Able to prepare and monitor project budgets (RAB), evaluate quotations, and control project costs.

• Familiar with project supervision, site inspections, contractor coordination, and quality control.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
