About the role

We are seeking an experienced and professional Waiter to join the team at MuseumKu Gerabah. This is a contract position based in Bantul, Yogyakarta. As a Waiter, you will be at the forefront of our hospitality operations, delivering exceptional service to our guests and ensuring their dining experience is memorable and enjoyable. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards of service that define our establishment and contribute directly to guest satisfaction and repeat business.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and escorting them to their tables in a courteous and professional manner

• Presenting menus and providing recommendations based on guest preferences, dietary requirements and house specialities

• Taking accurate food and beverage orders and communicating them clearly to the kitchen and bar staff

• Serving food and beverages promptly, professionally and with attention to detail, following proper service protocols

• Monitoring guest satisfaction throughout their meal and responding promptly to any requests or concerns

• Clearing tables efficiently and maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the dining area

• Processing payments and handling cash or card transactions accurately

• Maintaining knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods and pricing

• Assisting with table setup, restocking supplies and maintaining standards of presentation

• Supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive team environment

• Adhering to health, safety and hygiene regulations at all times

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working as a waiter or in a similar waitstaff role within a hospitality establishment

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with diverse guests

• Excellent communication and listening skills to understand guest needs and preferences

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining attention to detail

• Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and protocols

• Physical capability to stand for extended periods, carry trays and move around the dining area

• Reliability and punctuality, with a professional image and demeanour

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and support colleagues

• Fluency in Indonesian and basic English to communicate with both local and international guests

• Willingness to learn and adapt to our establishment's specific procedures and standards
