Project Estimator

About the role

This role involves performing calculations and material estimations for solar PV (PLTS) projects, creating Bills of Quantity (BoQ) and cost estimates (RAB), and reading technical drawings, singleline diagrams (SDL), layouts, and project specifications. You will conduct quantity take-offs based on drawings and tender documents, calculate material requirements including PV modules, inverters, mounting systems, cables, panels, protection systems, and supporting materials, and assist in preparing project price quotations based on material, labour, and installation work needs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform calculations and estimations of material requirements for PLTS projects

• Create BoQ (Bill of Quantity) and RAB/Cost Estimate for projects

• Read and understand technical drawings, singleline diagrams (SLD), layouts, and PLTS project specifications

• Conduct quantity take-off based on drawings and tender documents

• Calculate material requirements such as PV modules, inverters, mounting systems, cables, panels, protection systems, and supporting materials

• Assist in preparing project price quotations based on material, labour, and installation work requirements

• Review and compare quotations from suppliers and vendors

• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Project, and Finance teams regarding project cost requirements

• Assist in evaluating work changes and cost requirements during project execution

• Prepare technical and commercial documents required for tenders and projects

About you

• Minimum D3/S1 qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field

• Experience as Estimator, Engineering, or Project Engineer, particularly on PLTS/EPC projects is an advantage

• Understanding of basic PLTS On-Grid, Off-Grid, or Hybrid systems

• Able to read technical drawings and conduct quantity take-off

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Able to use AutoCAD; experience with PLTS design software such as PVsyst is an advantage

• Strong analytical, calculation, and attention to detail capabilities

• Able to work independently and within teams

• Willing to work with project targets and deadlines

• Fresh graduates considered if they have basic understanding of PLTS and good technical capabilities
