Procurement Specialist (Mandarin Speaker).

About the role

PT Lingyun Indonesian Automotive is seeking a Procurement Specialist (Mandarin Speaker) to join our Production, Planning & Scheduling team. This is a contract position based in Cikarang Pusat, Jawa Barat, and offers an exciting opportunity to drive procurement excellence within our automotive manufacturing operations.

In this strategic role, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities that directly support our production planning and scheduling objectives. Your expertise in sourcing, vendor management, and supply chain coordination will be essential to ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities. The ability to communicate fluently in Mandarin will be a significant advantage, as you will liaise with our Chinese suppliers and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, components and equipment required for automotive production

• Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and competitive advantage

• Manage purchase orders and monitor supplier performance against agreed service level agreements

• Coordinate with production planning and scheduling teams to ensure material availability aligns with manufacturing timelines

• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits to optimise stock levels

• Communicate with Chinese suppliers and international partners in Mandarin to clarify specifications, delivery schedules and quality requirements

• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities whilst maintaining product quality standards

• Resolve supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans to minimise production delays

• Prepare procurement reports and analytics to support management decision-making

• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and relevant automotive industry standards

What we're looking for

• Fluent Mandarin language skills (both written and spoken) – essential for supplier communication

• Minimum 3–5 years of procurement experience within manufacturing or automotive industries

• Proven expertise in supplier evaluation, contract negotiation and vendor management

• Strong knowledge of production planning processes and how procurement integrates with scheduling

• Experience with procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to manage supply chain challenges

• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with internal teams and external suppliers

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining accuracy

• Knowledge of automotive quality standards (such as ISO/TS 16949 or equivalent) is preferred

• Experience in supply chain cost optimisation and logistics coordination is advantageous
