Electrical Engineer Estimator

JOB SUMMARY

Prepare accurate project cost estimates for tenders and project changes, including electrical, mechanical, fire alarm systems, and related work. The role evaluates drawings and specifications, coordinates with vendors and suppliers for pricing, prepares bid documentation, and provides cost support during project execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

1. Prepare material take-offs and cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, and tender documents.

2. Conduct site inspections when required to identify scope, activities, and potential project risks.

3. Obtain and analyse pricing from vendors, suppliers, market surveys, and previous projects.

4. Prepare and organize bid documents, including BOQ, pricing sheets, technical clarifications, and tender summaries.

5. Support Project Management with cost estimates and clarifications on materials and methods, including project variations.

6. Assist the Estimating Manager in guiding and supporting Estimators and new team members.

7. Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Estimating Manager and/or Management.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

1. Minimum Diploma/Associate Degree in Engineering or related field.

2. Minimum 3 years of experience as an Estimator in a related industry; site experience preferred.

3. Excellent in English, both written and verbal; TOEFL/IELTS score preferred.

1. Good computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; other estimating/project software is an advantage.

2. Able to read and analyse technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.

3. Good math, analytical, communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.

4. Relevant technical certification, where required by the position or applicable regulations.
