Deputy Head of Engineering

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee plant predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability, optimize performance, and minimize production downtime.

• Manage engineering CAPEX projects from concept development, budgeting, contractor selection, execution, commissioning, and final handover.

• Supervise, mentor, coach, and develop engineering and maintenance teams to strengthen technical capabilities and drive high performance.

• Ensure all engineering projects and maintenance activities comply with company Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) standards, regulatory requirements, and applicable industry regulations.

• Oversee spare parts management, inventory control, and vendor performance to ensure availability, cost efficiency, and operational continuity.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, productivity, reliability, ergonomics, and cost optimization.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support plant operations, reliability, and business objectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering disciplines.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in engineering projects, plant maintenance, and asset reliability management, preferably within the chemical manufacturing industry.

• Experience in chemical, petrochemical, food ingredients, or process manufacturing industries will be an advantages.

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

• Experience in managing CAPEX projects, equipment installation, and plant expansion activities.

• Strong knowledge of utility systems including Boilers, Chillers, Air Compressors, and Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems.

• Familiar with industrial automation, PLCs, instrumentation, and sensors.

• Good understanding of HSE standards, ISO systems, and environmental regulations.

• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
