Chief Engineering

About the role

This role involves overseeing all operational activities of the Engineering department to ensure they run safely, effectively, and in accordance with company standards. The position requires monitoring and maintaining MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems and building support systems to operate optimally, while managing work planning, maintenance schedules, and engineering activities.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all Engineering operational activities run safely, effectively, and according to company standards

• Oversee and ensure MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and building support systems function optimally

• Develop work plans, maintenance schedules, and control Engineering activities

• Monitor and evaluate preventive and corrective maintenance

• Analyse technical problems and make appropriate decisions and solutions

• Oversee vendor, contractor, and external party work related to Engineering

• Control Engineering budget usage and ensure expenditures align with needs and budget allocation

• Create and evaluate reports on activities, equipment condition, maintenance, and Engineering problems

• Ensure Engineering work complies with SOP, workplace safety standards, and applicable regulations

• Lead, direct, and coordinate with the Engineering team to achieve operational targets

About you

• Minimum S1 degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the same position or equivalent Engineering position

• Understanding of MEP systems and building technical support systems

• Able to read and understand technical drawings, technical specifications, and equipment manuals

• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

• Proficient in AutoCAD

• Understanding of Engineering SOP, workplace safety standards/K3, and building technical regulations

• Ability in Engineering budget planning and control

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities

• Good communication and coordination skills with internal teams and vendors/contractors
